I purchased two of these units as part of a kitchen fit-out at two new properties in early 2012. They were not first used until October 2012.Earlier this week I was told that the unit in one of the properties stopped mid wash cycle and tripped the safety switch. After the power was reset, the unit was dead. After typing the model number (SGS65M08AU) into Google I found this website and the extensive history of this particular model failing in the same way after an almost identical time frame. Furthermore, everyone seems to report expensi. Read more ve call-out and repair costs which basically dwarf the original purchase cost of the unit.It appears that Bosch has previously repaired these units outside of the warranty period without charging the customer.I would expect that a Bosch unit which costs this much would not fail so quickly after the warranty period. It concerns me that so many people are reporting exactly the same negative experience, because it seems to suggest there is an inherent problem with the model.

Purchased this dishwasher in April 2011 for our rental property, having been very happy with our previous Bosch dishwasher. This model clearly has major issues judging by the number of complaints on this site. Most seem to involve failure of the main control board and hence high repair costs. Mine also stopped working without any warning half way through a cycle. It is now completely dead, not a flicker of life. I have always held Bosch products in high regard and I think that this has historically been warranted.
I now have cause to question this. Hi John,Thanks for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Bosch SGS65M08AU Dishwasher and can appreciate your disappointment.

Read moreThanks for letting us know about your experience with your Bosch SGS65M08AU Dishwasher. What is with this model (SGS65M08AU)???? It worked perfectly for just over three years and EXACTLY like the previous reviews mine just died to after finishing the previous nights wash.
No light, couldn't turn it on. I contacted a 'Bosch' authorised repairer at $167 for call out and initial investigation. My dishwasher was then taken away to be tested. I just found out that it will cost $815 + GST to repair (new control module and fascia panel)!! I paid $850 (approx) for it in 2011!
I am SO upset, especially since there seems to be some kind of fault with this model. I look after my appliances and I'm the only one who uses it. Don't buy this model!

We have this dishwasher for around 3 years and it had been working fine. Then this morning, it stopped working after completing the cycle on the night before (dishes were cleaned and dried). There was no light or reaction when turned on. It is very likely that the control board has died as there is still electricity current passing the relay. Googled the problem, and apparently there have been a number of problems with the control board and I was surprised that others here might have experienced the same.
Sadly, I didn't take the extended warra. Read more nty as I thought it is (was) a trusted brand.January 22nd 2018 Update: Broken down twice in 7 yearsI bought this Bosch dishwasher sometime in Dec 2010 with a five year extended warranty.
It was working well (clean well and quiet during operation) until it died about 4 years and 10 months. Luckily, it was repaired under the extended warranty. The control module was replaced. Now January 2018, the dishwasher broke down again.
Bosch Dishwasher Sgs65m08au Manual Free
It displayed the same problem where everything just died in the middle of the cycle. No power, no sound, no lights. I checked the switch and it is relaying power to the control module. I haven't checked power to the valve and pump from the control module, but it is highly likely to be the same problem with the control module, as all the previous reviewers have experienced.Sadly, this Bosch dishwasher model has a dodgy control module. This dishwasher is too valuable to be thrown out.
But with the control module costing so much to replace, between $350-$450 just for the module, fixing it becomes a risky and uneconomic exercise. Perhaps it is time to consider another brand with the hope of getting a more reliable dishwasher. Hi Boldenwell,Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it. Researched this product before buying (or so Ithought), Bosch has a good name, 2 year warranty, good water & power rating etc. 6 months out of warranty and we have problems with maybe the control board (approx$400 repair inc labour & parts) BUT maybe it's the motor.don't know till we get control board fixed.
Disappointed that a supposedly good brand falls over, outside warranty perid, f course. 'They don't make 'em like they used to'.Energy efficiency, appearanceOccasionally didn't disperse dishwasher tablet - and control board (?) fault. I bought this dishwasher as I read about the good reputation of Bosch dishwashers on this site and from word of mouth. It wasn't on the Bosch website and when I rang them, was told it's a special edition they bring out from time to time - hence the bargain price. It's made in Turkey and the base is plastic, not metal. The front is anti-fingerprint stainless steel, which is really good.
It's quiet, all that can be heard is the water swooshing. When it's finished, the dishes aren't completely dry. (I haven't played with the settings yet, I ha.
Read more ve it set to Auto). I run it overnight so that it finishes when I wake up, open the door and drawers so the dishes can dry, then empty when I get home. My parents recently bought a Samsung which they say completely dries all their dishes. The timer isn't very reliable, it says it will take 133 minutes but takes about 80 (I guess it's better to overstate). The delay start isn't very intuitive - you need to program in how many hours you want it to start, so then I need to figure out how many hours the cycle will be to work out when it will be ready - not very good at maths!
And I agree with another reviewer about not having a beep when finished and the need to turn it off.Good price, reliable, quiet, anti-fingerprintTimer function, doesn't dry very well. Just had over 2 weeks and so far all is good with this unit except for 2 basic features - the need to turn the unit off after it's finished and it makes no beeping after it's finished. These two basic things I thought would be a given.Purchased from Appliances on line for $749 including free delivery and removal of old dishwasher - which was a F&P. No longer on Bosch website so thinking it's a run out model. With regards to the vario setting the instruction booklet says it will increase water/energy use or something to that fact which is.
Read more strange because this setting is suppose to cut the time in half. Don't have the booklet in front of me to state the right wording. Did notice that vario setting doesn't quite dry.Alot more quiet than my old F&P which you would expect.Has plastic internal bottom which at first put me off - hence the price of the unit.
I figure that if the drawers are plastic and they seem to cope then the floor should stand up.Good wash, quiet and price.Need to turn off after finishing and no audible beeps indicating it's finished. Needed to replace my trusty Dishlex Global 300 after years of service. Found this Bosch unit at Harvey Norman for $750. The next level Bosch was over $1300, but this one looked simple to use and i figured as long as it did what the Global could do, then we would be happy. It has some good storage options with the trays/racks.Normal mode takes over 2 hours, but the Vario does just a good job in under half the time.I think that you can spend over $1K and just end up with something that has more bells and whistles, but at the end of the day. Read more, they all just spray water around and it probably also comes down to the washing tablets you use. I am very happy with this.Price, simple functions, dries OK, Vario setting works great, seems to have the same storage as my old one, looks good too. I brought this product because it had the features I wanted at a good price (under $1000).
When I researched it I discovered it was made in Turkey and there seemed to be a bit of 'negative press' about that on some forums. I think most major brands have production plants outside of their country of origin so not sure what the fuss was about. The next Bosch model up was coming in at about $1600 and there were none cheaper.
Miele was another contender but didn't have anything priced realistically at the time. Seems like you can pay too much due t. Read more o exchange rates etc and still not receive better performance.Anyway, I have had mine working to the max since installation several months ago.
Works well, no complaints. It does what it should! Quiet and you can shorten full cycle times with the vario setting. Always produces a quality result. Can't think of any. It can be bit restricting if you have a lot of wine glasses to wash (hehe). It was tricky to install under the bench in my kitchen. However considering there was never any allowance for a dishwasher it would have been challenging to install anything. We've had our Bosch SGS65M08AU dishwasher for close to 8 months with no problems.
It was $1400 RRP and we picked it up for just under $1000. It cleans well and has handled a roast loads with no problem on Pots and Pans setting. The baskets are on solid-feeling rollers and the unit feels well made - not flimsy or cheap. This is our first dishwasher so we have no comparisons for relative noise, but the unit is quiet by anyone's standards. We have never been inconvenienced by the noise, whether sleeping, watching a movie or reading. We have. Read more run into only 1 issue with it - halfway through a wash it stopped and flashed a light.
Using the manual we found out that the water pump was either blocked or faulty. Draining the waste hose into a bucket showed that the tuna and corn casserole I had burnt into a saucepan (oh shame) was clogging the small hole we had drilled into the waste pipe under the sink.
Enlarging the hole and re-attaching the now-drained dishwasher waste hose resulted in the dishwasher happily starting up again and finishing with no problems.Quiet, good clean, easy to use, anti-fingerprint stainless steel, remembers where the program was stopped if you have to pause or turn it off.Factory wrapping is hard to remove (we thought our unit was a yellow-gold stainless steel until we realised that it was a thin film stretched behind the door!). Never had such a bad experience with dishwashers. I had a samsung which was useless and went for a bosch which is no better.
Nothing comes out clean. I have cleaned the filters, use tablets, and stack things correctly. It's noisy and I can't believe bosch would allow such a dishwasher to be sold under their name.
I have contacted bosch which have had the service agents come out a few times but they cant seem to fix the problem to get it to clean.I have been using the intensive wash to get a better result but it will cost me a fortune in power and I did get a better wash but it uses lots more power.Doesnt wash and is noisy.
I bought this machine 5 yrs ago and like so many other reports on this page it suddenly died one day, no warning just won't turn on, no lights, nothing. Up until this point it worked like a dream, washing really well. Its had an extremely easy life here, on average it would only be used 1-2 times per week so really I would expect it should be lasting much longer than 5yrs. I called Bosch to lodge a service call and have been quoted $88- call out then $9.90 every 6 mins, plus parts of course.
Although I'm a little confused they mentioned somethi. Read more ng along the lines of if the problem is covered under the consumer warranty Bosch will cover the cost, otherwise I will have to cover the repair costs? Given there have been so many similar sounding issues I'm not keen to fork out any money up front. Would I be better to cancel this call out and just buy a new dishwasher? I feel like this could easily be handing good money after bad. I'm so disappointed with this machines short life.
We are very disappointed with our Bosch dishwasher! We bought it circa September 2011 and just one day out of the blue early December 2016, the dishwasher just stopped working (no power or whatsoever)! Called Bosch and they ask to get their serviceperson in (obviously high call out charges) to check what is wrong.
Since it was close to Christmas, they can only get someone in after more than a week (not impressed). I decided to call a local serviceperson and he confirm the motherboard died (100%).He personally recommended me to purchase a n.
Read more ew dishwasher instead of repairing it as the cost of the motherboard was a few hundreds dollars!Came upon this page and realise I'm not the only person having this issue! Very disappointing as we were hoping Bosch brand will last longer than any other brands. They should recall this product as everyone seems to have similar issues! We purchased the Bosch SGS65M08AU/15 dishwasher from Harvey Norman 5 years ago - we spent the extra money to go with a brand that seemed to have the reputation for great engineering and reliability.
We've had no complaints with the dishwasher up until now - it cleaned dishes well and was relatively quiet - what we were expecting from Bosch. However, a few days ago we put the dishwasher on the delay start before going out, and returned to find it had stopped mid-cycle, hadn't emptied the water and will not power on. No lights or anything. Read more he power point is working fine, and I've checked that the filters are all clean and there's nothing blocking the impeller / pump etc.I've called Bosch and they simply passed on the name of a repairer. It will cost me a minimum of $110 for the call out fee plus extra for any time they spend on it. I've since discovered this site and it appears that there are many others who have had the same problem, and that the control board is the problem ($500+ to replace) - ouch! Once labour is added I'm getting close to the price of a new machine!
I've been a fan of Bosch in the past, but I don't think I'll return for a Bosch dishwasher.Last week, I would have given 5 stars, but given it's died after such a short time, I can only give 2 stars. Looks like I'll be hand washing for a while. Bought Bosch dishwasher with belief that German quality trumps any other brands. Even got a friend and my brother to get a Bosch dishwasher. To our dismay, the dishwasher broke down just after about 5 years since we got it.
Loaded it after one of of our parties over the new year, set the delay timer hoping to clear the dishes in the morning, only to find that the dishwasher didn't complete the cycle. Can't to power up since then.
Checked power point, water clogs and all other tips given by the manual, effort was futile. We ended up washin. Read more g all the plates by hand.Seems like the problem is due to a defect inherent in this model.
Would have expected Bosch product to last longer. Please help to restore my faith in Bosch product before we start looking elsewhere. Was a great dishwasher unit it just stopped, no power, nothing, did not finish the wash was still full of water, looking at trouble shooting and looks like a inner board problem, from the reviews i have seen, it will be too much to repair, i won't be buying a bosch again, i guess thats why this model is discontiuiedThough after buying a expensive dishwasher it would last a lot longer only got 3 and a half years out of this one, got a better run out of a cheaper dishwasher last time it lasted for 6 years, i think i will go back to the cheaper options. Was working great for six years until the other day when the stupid check water light came on. Going to cost me $550 for a new module, what a joke might as well go and buy a new one and certainly not a BOSCH.
Thought that Bosch was supposed to be good German engineering but it couldn't be further from the truth and all the reviews on the internet. Also the top rack started to fall apart and rust in the first few years how is that for Bosch quality, good one Bosch. People if you read this spend your money on a different brand because as much as we loved it at the start, don't know if l could bring myself to buy another Bosch again. We have had this dishwasher for 4.5 years I expected more out an expensive brand.
Just like all the other reviews our dishwasher has got the dreaded check water level. We have cleaned everything out and reset as Bosch told us to. Still doesn't work and the check water is still on. I've phoned Bosch who have advised us to call their agent at $88 call out fee and $9.95 every 6 minutes to fix it plus parts.
After reading all the other Reviews I would rather put $400 on another dishwasher that isn't a Bosch with good reviews.Very disappointed that Bosch haven't done more about this fault in this model. Won't be buying Bosch anything again! It looks like we can add our name to a long list of SGS65M08AU/15 dishwashers that have lost power. It wasn't until I opened it last night and saw it hadn't drained that I noticed we had a problem. Everything had gone fine until then. Now, it has no power, not a blip, not a light. It must have just crashed mid wash, and that was that.

In our previous house, we bought a Dishlex and used it for 5 years with zero problem. Our friend currently have a Dishlex that they bought 6 years ago and still working well. When moving to our new house, we furnished our kitchen with all Bosch appliances as we were recommended Bosch as a reputable company. In the end, we do have lots of other Bosch electrical in our house as well.We paid good money for Bosch appliances and expected the dishwasher would last a lot longer than the Dishlex. That is not true, our Bosch Dishwasher SGS65M.
Read more 08AU lasted only four years.Yesterday, the circuit board was completely burnt with strong foul smell. I had to disconnect it and took the dishwasher outside. Not only the dishwasher died, the way it died is unbelievably unsafe. How could the circuit board burn by itself. Where is the safety mechanism to prevent electrical fire from happening.
This is totally unsafe and should have been recalled. Luckily, we were at home while washing the dishes, otherwise, there would be a fire. This was in fact a narrow escape, sometimes, we did wash the dished unattended.
Beware people, don't wash your dish unattended. We replaced our first dishlex dishwasher with a bosch as I heard that the brand was excellent, it was a $1500 rrp model, well now I am changing my mind.
Its has only been 5 years and now it is dead and will not turn on (like all the other complaints on this model). I rang Bosch and was told no warranty and an engineer had to come out and look at it. I asked for a price on a new power pcb and was quoted $350!!!!

Read more this model, please dont, in a few years you will need to pay up of $700 to fix. I am at a loss to why Bosch does not recall or make the owners aware of a bad model. As with all the people on here I paid more money to buy a brand that is well known only to have it break and cost over 70% of its worth to fix, I just dont have the money to throw at dishwashers every 5 years. Dishlex was a fail with only 3 years till the first break, fix, break and limping it 4.5 years before getting this Bosch. Got 5 years out of the Bosch, then a totally dead system.
Only positive was customer support guy was nice, checked if it was on a recall list and gave me details of the local bosch agent.Bosch I expected more from your product!! But after reading all these other reviews with the same issue on the model of dish washer, I am afraid I am more than disappointed. Why is the part so expensive on a model with known issues?
If it was not so expensive to replace I would fix as it is (was) a great dishwasher.1 unhappy customer, buyer beware. Hi 1shot,Thanks for your review, we appreciate your feedback. Well that was weeks ago now.
The delay timer just started working one night (can only assume a loose connection or short) and has not faulted since. So have a fully functioning machine now and can only assume that it is fixed. I haved crossed my fingers that the replaced part was installed correctly. I guess time will tell.
I will keep you posted. We purchased a Bosch dishwasher Model SGS65M08AU from Harvey Norman Bennetts Green on the - we were persuaded by the sales person to purchase this unit instead of the same brand we had previously, believing we were buying a superior product.
An obvious design fault was the front panel plastic which cracked near the buttons, but then without any warning the dishwasher now has no power. Yes I too are an unlucky customer buying the dishwasher model SGS65M08AU. Just after 3 years opened the door to find water still in the bottom - yes diagnosed as the Board, made yet another mistake by deciding to have it fixed for $536.00 trusting in the Bosch name. That was April 2015. In October 2015 exactly the same thing expecting the board to be under warranty we rang the same service agent but of course another $88 call out fee. They came to fit the new board but unfortunately it still didn't work seems a faulty water valve caused the 3 m.
Read more onth board to blow and to fix the thing again I have just been quoted a further $780.00 because the board is not covered under warranty even though its own machine caused the fault. I will not be made a fool of a 3rd time Bosch and won't ever make the mistake of trusting in the Bosch name again. I wished the model had been three years old when I purchased it so I could have known it only had a 3 year life span.
Well Bosch you send me emails to say congrats I have helped 361 people with my review. You replace some dishwashers as good will gestures and others get call out fee paid but still leaves them out of pocket for new motherboard - cheaper to buy another dishwasher which is exactly what I did. I now have an excellent dishwasher sitting in my shed and the only thing wrong with it is the motherboard. Very disappointing.

I did not buy a Bosch to die after just over 3 years. I live alone therefore dishwasher used no more that 3 times a week, far less because i often work away. That's 182 weeks at 3 1/2 years = 546 uses, call it 600.I'm being generous here.

When hunting for a dishwasher we were advised against buying another brand we'd always been happy with, as 'they don't last'. The SGS65MO8AU came highly recommended. We've only had it four years and it has just stopped.
Dead as a doornail and full of water in the bottom. Very disappointing!March 8th 2017 Update: Motherboard died AGAIN after less than two yearsYou've GOT to be kidding! Bosch, what ARE you producing? Like many other reviews on this site, we purchased a Bosch because we thought it would last - my old Dishlex lasted over 10 years!
I would not recommend purchasing anything Bosch now, unfortunately. This is ridiculous.

Looking at all the past reviews with the same problem I am not surprised it has been discontinued by BOSCH.Uncertain how much a repair +call out will be, and if it is even worth it for a model with known pr. Read more oblems. We have other BOSCH appliances and have been happy with them all. This one just missed the mark.Bought at Appliances Online late 2011. It really shouldn't need replacing already.
Very disappointed.:(.
+ call out fee.Disappointed in a trusted name brand that only lasts the same life as a no name brand.
If you are looking to buy.
Thank you Bosch for organising the repair and covering the cost of our dish washer. It has been 2 weeks now since the repair and it seems to be working fine.
Thank you again Bosch!Your local repair. Read more agent on the other hand does not represent you well. Left a huge mess when they came out the first time to diagnose, we had to chase to confirm if they ordered and received parts, again had to chase to install, they replaced parts and left with delay function on machine not working and advised us they would confirm correct part was installed and contact us.
I have been advised that the unit will cost upwards of $600 to repair. My husband was retrenched this year and we cannot afford to simply throw money or the dishwasher away. This is our first Bosch purchase and will be our last if this is the lifespan of the product. Hi Jackie,Thanks for your review, we appreciate your feedback.

You say you only get negative feedback on this site - I love your products but am at a loss as to why with the amount of reviews with the same problem that you have not recalled this product.
Really disappointed that so many people got their dishwashers repaired / replaced even out of warranty after my original review and all I was offered was the call out fee to see what was wrong with mi.

What a disgrace!
Never would I ever buy anything from Bosch again. Exactly the same problem as everyone else our dishwasher has completely died and has absolutely no power to it. We have called a certified Bosch repairer only to find out it will cost us $120 just for a call out fee which I refuse to pay when our dishwasher is only 4 years old! I am currently 8 months pregnant at home on bed rest with high blood pressure and do not have the time nor the money to be running around looking at buying a new dishwasher because our powerboard is dead! I have called Bosch only to be told it is not one of their recall models and that we would have to pay for a service call but by reading all of these reviews I think Bosch need to get their act together and recall this crappy model SGS65M08AU. I will defiantly be taking this further as I refuse to be out of pocket for a problem that is due to the obvious terrible manufacturing of the product. Have been quoted $364 for a new part plus labour. So it will be over $700 to repair! My Dishlex dishwasher I had before this lasted more than 15 years without any problems.
Very disappointed that the sales person at the Good Guys recommended this Bosch model to me and I might be better off buying another Dishlex because what assurance do I have that the same thing isn't going to just happen again, although I do hate to add to landfill. Bought this model Bosch and same problem as mentioned with the other reviewers.
Bought Sept 2011 from Masters Capalaba, Qld. Already had a replacement part under warranty in 2012. Cleaned fine until stopped. Stopped dead at the end of a wash May 31 2015.
Repair charged on visit $165 to tell me circuit board dead and $565 to repair. I did not buy a Bosch to die after just over 3 years. I live alone therefore dishwasher used no more that 3 times a week, far less because i often work away. That's 182 weeks at 3 1/2 years = 546 uses, call it 600.I'm being generous here.
